Pushing against gender roles, now that we’re all home together

The night before public schools officially closed in the District due to the coronavirus, my husband and I agreed to meet at 6 a.m., before we went to work and our kids woke up, to discuss how we would handle the changes. But when we sat down with our predawn coffee, I found we were having two different conversations.
